We are looking for full or part time veterinarians to join our clinic. Westglen Animal Hospital practices a high standard of medicine, and our clients are open to further diagnostic work since their pets are part of the family. Westglen Animal hospital has a friendly atmosphere where we value and support our staff like they are family members. Westglen has a high tech to vet ratio so there will always be a technician or two with you during our 30-minute appt times. We strongly believe in a healthy work to life balance and will not bother you on your days off! The veterinarians at Westglen also do not take any after hour calls or see after hour emergencies.

Veterinary Technician

Description

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Veterinary Technician to join our team at Westglen Animal Hospital! The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for inpatient care; surgical monitoring; dental procedures; radiology; sample collection and diagnostics; and client services. We are looking for applicants who have a strong work ethic and want to practice at the highest level of their abilities. Salary for the Veterinary Technician position is commensurate with experience.

Working Conditions

The Veterinary Technician job can require up to a 40-hour work week, depending on full-time or part-time status, with possible intermittent weekends, holidays, overtime and/or evening work. Compliance with hospital safety and employee policy manual is expected. The Veterinary Technician will have frequent contact with clients and patients in a fast-paced and changing work environment. He/she must be comfortable working around sick, injured, or unruly animals in an environment where the noise level can be moderate to very loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: walk: use hands and fingers to reach or feel: climb, balance, stoop, kneel or, crouch. The employee must be able to lift up to 35-40 lbs. unassisted and up to over 100 lbs. with assistance.

Qualifications Desired:
  • Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or Applied Science
  • Current RVT license in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum of 1-2 years working in a veterinary hospital or clinic
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay calm in a high-volume and potentially stressful environment
  • Demonstrates professionalism and good judgment
