Dr. Jim Buehler

Dr. Jim Buehler is a lifelong resident of St. Louis and graduated from the University Of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He is currently a member of the American, Missouri, and St. Louis Veterinary Medical Associations. He has also served as the secretary of the St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association. He lives in the West County area with his wife, daughter, two cats, and a dog.

Dr. Helen Stortz

Dr. Helen Stortz joined Westglen Animal Hospital in June 2014, and is very excited to join the family at the clinic. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 1986 and from there has worked in a variety of clinical settings. She has worked in emergency medicine and shelter medicine, she has owned a practice, and even worked with the army in Germany for three and a half years. Dr. Stortz grew up in Ballwin, has three sons—one recent graduate from West Point, one at the University of South Florida, and one starting school at Missouri S&T. She also has two kitties, Maeva and new kitty named Sheldon. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and gardening.

Dr. Jennifer Cira

Dr. Jennifer Cira is a 2006 Graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in exotics medicine. Dr. Cira lives in St. Louis with her family and her dog. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and training for triathlons.

Dr. Kara Rogers

Dr. Kara Rogers was born and raised in Wildwood and graduated from Lafayette High School. Dr. Rogers attended Vanderbilt University, University of Kanas for her undergraduate studies and received a B.S. in Business Administration and mathematics. After working in Corporate America doing finance and marketing research for about 5 years before she decided to pursue veterinary medicine. She then attended Kansas State University and graduated with her DVM in 2011 and has nearly finished her MBA as well. Dr. Rogers joined the Westglen Animal Hospital in March of 2020, after moving from Minnesota to be closer to her family.
Dr. Rogers is very passionate about rescue work, as well as behavior and training. Her rescue work is mainly focused around on saving Pit Bulls/Bully breeds and fabulous felines. In February 2020 she rescued a pregnant pit bull and helped whelp a litter of 12 puppies. Ultimately keep the momma now Mia and one of the puppies, Gemma. Dr. Rogers also has great love for her 5 kitties: Moo, Scooter, Twinkie, Kiwi and Chip the crazy Bengal.
When Dr. Rogers is not singing and dancing with her clients and technicians you can find her doing all sorts of outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, or running. She also has found great enjoyment in DIY/rehab of her home and loves to refinish antique furniture to its former glory.


Amy started working at Westglen Animal Hospital with Dr. Buehler in 1990. In 1994, Amy left to start her family. When the opportunity presented itself, she rejoined Westglen in 2005. She enjoys hearing about the lives of our clients and caring for their pets that they entrust to our care. Amy grew up in St. Louis County, and has lived there her entire life. She is married with two children. Her family also includes two dogs, Haley & Sandy. She loves spending her free time outdoors, hiking and gardening.


Karin has been working with animals since high school and started working at Westglen Animal Hospital in 2004. She started in the kennel and worked her way up to reception, as well as assisting the doctor in the room and with surgery. Karin is married with a 12-year-old daughter, and just welcomed boy/girl twins in June 2014. She has a watchdog named Bruiser, the ferocious chihuahua. Karin enjoys spending time with family.


Rachael was born and raised in St. Louis, and graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickory College in 2011, becoming a certified veterinary technician. She has been working at Westglen Animal Hospital since August 2011. Rachael shares her home with her long-term boyfriend and two dogs, a terrier mix named Murphy and a Lab/Pitt mix named Gambit. She enjoys spending her free time staying active and spending time with her family.


Allie graduated from Brown Mackie veterinary technician program in 2014, but has worked with animals since 2011. She joined the Westglen family in November 2016 and loves assisting in the exam rooms and helping clients. Allie has three yorkies, Boo, Dilly and Minnie. She also has one cat, Shinxy. Allie enjoys playing Pokemon Go and watching the St. Louis Blues, go Blues!!


Bridget was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Murray State University in December 2017 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been working at Westglen Animal Hospital since February 2018. She has a wonderful beagle- mix named Ginny, living with her at home. She enjoys spending time with friends in her free time.


Melissa graduated from Missouri State University in 2014 with a degree in animal science. She has worked at a humane society, a part time zookeeper and then worked at a rescue ranch until she joined the Westglen family in 2020. Melissa has two dogs, two cats and snakes at home. She also enjoys spending her free time with family, friends, and reading books.


Allison was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Murray State University in December 2020 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has two dogs Sadie and Emmy and two cats Milo and Gemma at home. She spends her free time with her family and friends outdoors.


Taylor graduated from the veterinary technician program at Midwest Institute in May 2017. Shortly after graduating she passed her national and state exams to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She joined the Westglen family in July of 2019. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and two yorkies, Charlie and Zoey and cheering on the St. Louis Blues!


Christina was born in Michigan but has lived in St. Louis County since she was 6 years old. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences. Prior to starting at Westglen in the summer of 2020, she worked at a pet boarding facility for four years when on break from school. Christina has enjoyed learning more about the veterinary profession each day and hopes to go to school to become a veterinarian. In her spare time, Christina enjoys doing taekwondo, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
